How DOVE Center Can Help

The Outreach Center is the business office of DOVE Center where we conduct volunteer or community trainings and take care of the daily business of DOVE Center.

Case managers and victim advocates meet clients at the outreach center to provide assistance with a variety of things including assistance with protective orders and stalking injunctions. Outreach services provide longer-term care and support for survivors who have either left safe shelter or never needed safe shelter.

Outreach services are provided to all victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, current or past, along with secondary victims such as children, family members, and co-workers, without regard to socioeconomic status, education level, race, gender, religious affiliation, age, sexual orientation, or cultural upbringing.

Hospital Advocacy

DOVE Center sponsors a team of trained advocates who provide one-on-one support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and rape at the hospital. There is an advocate on call 24/7. Advocates provide emotional support during forensic exams, and information and resources about follow-up services. They assist victims with applications to Utah Office of Victims of Crime for reimbursement of medical costs associated with the crime committed against them. Advocates often provide supportive information and resources to friends and family of the victim as well to help them better understand how to not only support their loved one as they heal and recover, but also themselves as secondary survivors. Medical advocates provide victims with new and clean clothing at the hospital and will help arrange transportation to a safe place when needed.

Court Advocacy

DOVE Center provides services to individuals seeking assistance with a protection order, or stalking injunction. DOVE Court trained advocates may review and assist clients in filling out a protection order. Court Advocate will assist in preparation to attend court as well as attend court with the client to provide emotional support.

DOVE Advocates also provide referrals to community partners for legal advice and legal representation during their protection order hearing.
